This week more Chia seed products have arrived with a new 1kg size now available as well as a Ground Chia Seed in 350g sachet. A specialised process has been used in grinding the whole Chia seed to carefully protect the Omega 3, vitamins and minerals in the seed. Chia was the ancient high energy endurance food of the Aztecs and Mayans, so valued it was used in ceremonies and as currency to pay taxes. Rich in protein, fibre and containing the most Omega 3 of any known plant Chia can be used as a nutritious sprinkle on cereals, salads, added to muffins, bread and biscuits or as a gel (soak in water) for shakes and smoothies.
Xylitol is now available in a new size - a box of 50 sachets of 4 grams - for convenience or for when you're on the move.
Supply of Island Pure sheep cheese has been erratic lately due to a change of ownership of the business. Previous owners retained most of the stock so the new owners have to wind production back up which will take a little while. They have not been able to keep up with demand and have advised this week that it could be 4 more weeks before the full range of cheeses will be available once again. They do apologise for the inconvenience and thank customers for their patience.

We expect the Avocado variety to change to the smooth-skinned Fuerte this week signally more Avocado crops are ready for picking, improving the very tight supply of recent months. Brussel Sprouts are now in season and other Autumn crops will soon follow.
